My hopes for the book were surpassed in the first chapter.  The book did not really stop informing me through the end.  From the somewhat irrational behavior of early Texas settlers to the unvarnished actions by Comanche warriors.  Included in the history is Comanche horsemanship, American military strategic blunders to the impact of the first revolver from Colt that was used in Texas while he went broke.  I would recommend this book to anyone over the age a mature 15 years old.
